Submissions

How to Submit

BRAMS Journal welcomes original scholarly contributions from researchers worldwide. All manuscripts undergo rigorous double-blind peer review by at least two qualified specialists. We are committed to a transparent, constructive, and timely editorial process.

  1. Accepted formats: Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) or Rich Text Format (.rtf). Paper copies are not accepted.
  2. Length: 1,000–7,000 words (excluding the abstract and references).
  3. Font: English articles – Times New Roman; Georgian articles – AcadNusx; Georgian abstracts – Sylfaen.
  4. Language: Articles must be written in English or Georgian. All submissions must include an abstract of at least 500 words. Non-Georgian authors may request a translation of the abstract into Georgian, while Georgian authors may request a translation into English.
  5. Authorship standards: Submissions must be original and research-based. Citations should be used sparingly and in line with the journal’s guidelines. Manuscripts must comply with all requirements stated in the journal’s instructions for authors.

Manuscripts should include the following:

  1. Author(s) full name: first name (lowercase), middle name (lowercase or initial), and last name (uppercase). Include an ORCID ID (if applicable).
  2. Academic degree.
  3. Place of occupation: position and institution.
  4. Contact details: email and country.
  5. Article title.
  6. Keywords.
  7. Article body.
  8. References.
  9. Abstracts in English and Georgian, with each abstract including: full name, academic degree, place of occupation and position, title, and keywords in the relevant language.
  10. Multiple authors: for each co-author, provide complete information for items 1–4 and 9.

Authors’ personal information will be used solely for journal purposes and will not be shared without consent. Please note that footnotes are not accepted. Use reference numbers and relevant page numbers for in-text citations. Endnotes may be included prior to the References section.

The BRAMS Journal uses APA style with full author names. Authors are responsible for the accuracy of citations. Incomplete or incorrect references may delay publication. The examples below are provided for guidance.

  1. Books: Author’s or editor’s last name, first name, middle name. Book title (italicised), edition (if not 1st). City, Country (State if in US): Publisher, year.
  2. Book chapters: Author’s or editor’s last name, first name, middle name. “Chapter title,” in Book title (italicised), edition (if not 1st). City, Country (State if in US): Publisher, year, pages.
  3. E-books: Use the same format as printed books, plus retrieval date and URL (optional).
  4. Manuals / handbooks: Author’s or editor’s last name, first name, middle name. Title of Manual/Handbook (italicised), edition (if not 1st). Company, City, State (Abbrev.), Country, year, pages.
  5. Online manuals / handbooks: Author’s or editor’s last name, first name, middle name. Title of Manual/Handbook (italicised), year. Accessed: Date. [Online]. Available: URL.
  6. Articles: Author’s last name, first name, middle name. “Title of article.” Title of Periodical (italicised), number, year, pages.
  7. Journal articles: Author’s last name, first name, middle name. “Title of article.” Title of Journal (italicised), volume, issue, pages, Month and year.
  8. Electronic journal articles: Author’s last name, first name, middle name. “Title of article.” Title of Journal (italicised), volume, issue, pages, Month and year. DOI. Include URL and date of access if no DOI.
  9. Conference articles: Author’s last name, first name, middle name. “Title of article.” In: Name of Conference (italicised), Location, year, pages.
  10. Thesis: Author’s last name, first name, middle name. Title of thesis [MS thesis]. Dept., Univ., City of Univ., Country, year. Retrieval date and URL (optional).
  11. Dissertation: Author’s last name, first name, middle name. Title of dissertation [PhD dissertation]. Dept., Univ., City, Country, year. Retrieval date and URL (optional).
  12. Periodicals: Title of Newspaper or Periodical (italicised), number, year.
  13. Internet sources (web pages): Include, if available: author, organisation, authority, or company. Title of the document or page (italicised). Website title, or owner’s name, and last update of the web page. Retrieval date and URL (optional).
  14. Software: Title of Software (italicised) (version or year). Publisher name. Accessed: Date (when applicable). [Online]. Available: URL.
  15. Films: Title of film (italicised) (Year). Directed by Director’s Name, Production Company. URL (optional).

Submit visual content (figures, tables, charts, images, and illustrations) in a format suitable for both online and print reproduction, with a resolution of 300 dpi or higher (acceptable formats: .JPG, .PNG, .GIF, .TIF). Photocopies or screenshots of visual content may be included at the relevant points in the manuscript.

Authors may submit supplementary audiovisual materials (e.g., podcasts, screencasts) to illustrate techniques or practices discussed in their articles. High-quality formats are required: audio (.MP3) and video (.AVI, .MP4, or .MOV). For non-standard formats, please contact the editorial office.

If any video features individuals other than the authors, signed releases from those participants will be required before the videos are published on the BRAMS website or uploaded to the journal’s YouTube channel.

You will receive one of four decisions: accept, accept with minor revisions, major revisions required, or decline. Detailed reviewer feedback accompanies every decision. Revised manuscripts are typically returned to the original reviewers.

  1. Editorial decision: Authors will be notified of the editorial decision within two weeks of submission.
  2. Peer review: All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review by at least two qualified specialists. Reviews typically conclude within four weeks. Authors may suggest non-preferred reviewers in their cover letter; however, the editor retains final discretion.
  3. Editing and preparation: A manuscript accepted for publication will undergo an editing process tailored to the specific needs of the article. The preparation stage typically requires two to three months but may extend up to ten months before the manuscript is ready for pre-publication.
  4. Pre-publication to publication: Publication of a completed manuscript will be finalised within ten weeks after pre-publication.
  5. Confirmation letter: All authors will be eligible to receive an official letter from the BRAMS Journal editorial office once their manuscript has been accepted for publication and the APC has been transferred successfully. This letter will confirm acceptance and state that the article will be published in the journal on schedule.
  1. The submission is original and not under consideration elsewhere.
  2. The manuscript file is provided in MS Word (.doc or .docx) or Rich Text Format (.rtf) format.
  3. The manuscript is set in single-column format: 11.5 pt – Times New Roman for English text and the English abstract; 11 pt – AcadNusx for Georgian text; Sylfaen only for the Georgian abstract.
  4. The title page includes all author affiliations.
  5. The article’s title and keywords are provided in both languages.
  6. An abstract of at least 500 words is provided in English and/or Georgian, set in the relevant fonts.
  7. References are in APA 7th edition format, with authors’ full first names provided.
  8. Cited references include links or DOIs where available.
  9. The manuscript complies with the journal’s style and bibliography guidelines.
  10. Figures are supplied as separate files at 300 dpi or higher.
  11. A cover letter is included for postgraduate authors: it must be written and signed by a supervisor or a qualified specialist and submitted with the manuscript.
  12. A conflict-of-interest statement and, where applicable, an ethics approval statement are included.

Please include the following in the subject line: “Article – author’s full name” (e.g., “Article – Walter Lippmann”). If there are multiple co-authors, indicate it as: Article – first author’s full name and others (e.g., “Article – Walter Lippmann and others”).
