This article analyses Reaganomics through archival speeches, policy records and comparative economic data, tracing its intellectual roots and implementation under President Reagan. The author examines tax cuts, deregulation and reduced public spending – assessing short‑ and long‑term impacts on growth, inequality and state capacity – and situates US policy within the contemporaneous Thatcherite turn in Britain. Using quantitative indicators and primary sources, the study evaluates claims of neoliberal success and highlights contested outcomes, arguing that Reaganomics reshaped fiscal norms while producing uneven social consequences.
