The author analyses Georgia’s environmental alignment with Europe, arguing that this affinity is deliberate and rooted in history. Combining ecological history, present‑day environmental assessment, and comparative study, the article examines how conservation policies and practices reflect European values. Addressing a gap in scholarship, it assesses contemporary ecological challenges – including climate change – and evaluates Georgia’s institutional and societal responses as a historical bridge linking national identity to broader European environmental norms.
