The US Landmark Cases that Influence the World Practice

Labadze, George

Tbilisi State University

Abstract

The author examines US constitutional review with a focus on Supreme Court landmark decisions, analysing their doctrinal development and transnational influence – especially in Georgia and the UK. Using case studies on free speech, religious liberty, equality, slavery/abolition and affirmative action, the research traces judicial activism, social movements’ roles, and the dismantling of racial segregation. The paper argues that American jurisprudence has shaped global legal processes and assesses the likely policy and local ramifications of key rulings.
