The author examines Elder Ephraim of Philotheou and Arizona through archival accounts, eyewitness testimony and institutional records, assessing claims of miracles, monastic foundations and his final prophecy. The research traces his transnational monastery-building, the creation of St Anthony’s desert oasis, and the 2019 prediction of an “undeclared war” in relation to the COVID‑19 pandemic. Balancing hagiographic sources with critical contextual analysis, the paper reevaluates Ephraim’s spiritual influence and enduring legacy within contemporary Orthodoxy.
