The article examines Ekaterine Togonidze’s novel You at Home as a literary exploration of war, peace, inherited memory, and the possibility of return in contemporary Georgian writing. It situates the novel within the post-conflict context of the Abkhaz war, focusing on its representation of psychological crisis, alienation, and the enduring effects of trauma. Through an analysis of the protagonists’ personalities, destinies, and symbolic functions, the article explores the conceptual opposition between flight and return. It argues that the narrative transforms individual experience into a broader meditation on national memory, compassion, and reconciliation.
